About Thorntown Parks & Recreations Department

Thorntown Parks & Recreation oversees 1.5 miles of the historic Big 4 Rail Trail, the Lions Park, and our vast 7-acre Tom Johnson Memorial Park. Park pavilions are free to reserve for anyone, give us a call at (765) 436-2205 to reserve a shelterhouse today! Thorntown’s Park Department also hosts a variety of programs including our free children’s summer program, Movies in the Park, Yoga in the Park, Holiday on Main St., Spring/Fall Clean up, a Farmers & Artisans Market, Community & Pollinator Garden space, and our July 4 BBQ. Our park programs are almost solely funded by local business donations, and volunteers.
