Step into a living time capsule and travel through generations of music, style, and fun as we celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Heart of Lebanon! On Saturday, July 18th, our historic downtown transforms into the ultimate retro block party for the Decades of Music Festival, proudly presented by Meta (www.Meta.com). This free community celebration is the perfect summer evening out, inviting you to grab your favorite lawn chairs, dress up in the fashion of your favorite era, and dance your way through downtown.
The musical journey unfolds across three areas of our downtown, each bringing a different era to life. The music starts at 6:30 PM in Alley-Oop, where the Boone County Community Band will have you swaying to the timeless big band and jazz classics of the 1920s, 30s, and 40s. The energy kicks up a notch over at the East LPD Lot from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM as Bodacious takes the stage with a high-powered, nostalgic set featuring the absolute best rock and pop hits of the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Finally, get ready to rock when the night reaches its peak on the Meridian Street Main Stage from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM, where headliners Rockology Chicago will deliver an epic performance of the greatest anthems from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. To make your night even sweeter, be sure to arrive early to score limited-edition, era-branded event giveaways at each stage while supplies last!
When you aren’t at the main stages, Meridian Street is the place to be. All evening long, you can stroll through the Vintage Village, a specialty marketplace packed with retro finds, unique treasures, and nostalgic items guaranteed to spark fond memories. A live DJ will be spinning classic tracks right on the street, keeping the energy high and providing the perfect soundtrack for shopping and socializing before the final headlining act.
Come hungry, thirsty, and ready to explore! The festival layout seamlessly weaves right through our gorgeous historic district, making it the perfect opportunity to pop into downtown Lebanon’s fantastic local boutiques and restaurants. Plus, you can take full advantage of our Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA)—simply grab your favorite beer or cocktail in an approved DORA cup from a participating downtown spot, and you can legally sip and stroll as you #lingerlonger in Downtown Lebanon.
