Hamilton County Area Neighborhood Development, Inc. (HAND)
HAND is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing quality affordable housing options and advocating for inclusive, vibrant communities in Hamilton, Boone, and Tipton counties. Since 2003, HAND has worked to address the housing needs of low- and moderate-income individuals and families by developing and managing affordable rental properties, partnering with community organizations, and fostering solutions that support housing equity.
With 11 rental communities and several new projects underway, HAND offers energy-efficient, thoughtfully designed homes that serve a diverse range of residents, including seniors and families. As the only state-designated Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) in Hamilton County, HAND is committed to strengthening the local economy by ensuring housing is attainable for all.

Hamilton County Area Neighborhood Development, Inc. (HAND) provides the following services to support housing equity and community well-being:
- Affordable Rental Housing: HAND develops and manages high-quality, energy-efficient rental properties that serve low- and moderate-income individuals and families. Properties include options for seniors, families, and individuals, designed with Universal Design principles to ensure accessibility for all.
- Housing Advocacy: HAND works with community leaders, local businesses, and policymakers to promote affordable housing solutions that benefit the entire community. This includes educating stakeholders on the importance of housing diversity to support a strong local economy.
- Partnerships and Referrals: HAND collaborates with local organizations to provide housing for those in need, including families and survivors of domestic violence.
