Job Title: Engagement and Events Director
Reports to: Executive Director (Sean Reaves)
Location: Boone County, Indiana
Employment Type: Part Time- Average – 25 hours week on average
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Position Overview:
The Engagement and Events Director will be vital in enhancing member engagement, managing events, and supporting selected programs for the Boone County Chamber. The Director will create, plan, and execute a diverse range of programs and events that align with the Chamber’s mission and objectives. This position requires high organizational skills, creativity, and relationship-building to increase member satisfaction, participation, and retention.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Event Planning and Management:
Design, organize, and execute Chamber events, including but not limited to:
-Annual Chamber Banquet, Golf Outing, Boone County Bites, and Member Breakfast.
-Programs, such as Off the Clocks, Women in Business, and BizForward.
– Affinity Groups- such as Emerging Leaders and the Culinary Collective.
– Oversee event logistics: venue selection, catering, audio/visual needs, registration, and vendor management.
– Ensure all events are aligned with the Chamber’s brand, mission, and values.
– Prepare and manage event budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
– Monitor and evaluate event performance through member feedback and metrics, using insights to improve future events.
2. Member Engagement and Retention:
– Develop and implement a member engagement strategy to foster strong relationships with current and potential members.
– Serve as the primary point of contact for member inquiries related to events and engagement opportunities.
– Onboard new members and integrate them into Chamber activities.
– Regularly assess member satisfaction, seeking opportunities to enhance value through programming and benefits.
3. Sponsorship and Partnership Development:
– Collaborate with the Executive Director to secure event sponsors and maintain partnerships with local businesses and organizations.
– Identify sponsorship package opportunities and actively seek new sponsorships to enhance event offerings.
– Build relationships with key stakeholders and sponsors, ensuring fulfillment of sponsorship agreements.
4. Communications and Marketing:
– Coordinate with the Chamber marketing agency to promote events and programs through various channels, including social media, email campaigns, and the Chamber website.
– Develop event marketing collateral, including invitations, flyers, programs, and signage.
– Actively engage in community outreach, including representing the Chamber at local events and meetings to foster visibility and member recruitment.
5. Administrative Duties:
– Maintain detailed records of events, including participant lists, financial reports, and post-event evaluations.
– Assist in preparing reports and presentations for the Executive Director and the Chamber board.
– Contribute to the long-term strategic planning of the Chamber’s events and engagement activities.
-Manage Chamber events and programs in MemberClicks software.
Qualifications:
-3+ years of experience in event planning, community engagement, or program management, preferably in a non-profit or membership organization.
– Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
– Proven experience in sponsorship development and relationship-building with corporate partners.
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to engage diverse audiences.
– Proficiency in event management software, CRM systems, and essential budgeting tools.
– High attention to detail and ability to problem-solve in real-time during events.
– A solid commitment to the mission and values of the Boone County Chamber of Commerce.
